Ross is a seasoned performer with the a colourful musical history dating back to 1972 when he was a member of the Marion City Brass Band. 1974 saw him in the combined Secondary Schools Concert Band & Orchestra.
Apart from trumpet he is also accomplished in playing cornet, flugel, clarinet and trombone as well as harmonica.
As a member of 'The Dreamland Cafe Jazz Band' Ross performed at many venues in Adelaide and also performed at the 1978 National Jazz Convention.
The following year he played 'first trumpet' with the Adelaide 'Gilbert & Sullivan Society'.
In more recent times Ross has been involved with the Maroochydore Brass band.
With his boundless energy for music and performing Ross formed the Sunshine Swing Band a 22 piece outfit where he played principle trumpet.
During 2005 Ross was performing 2nd trumpet in the QUT Big Band which ultimately lead to his appointment as principle trumpet in 2006.
He's been involved in countless brass band competitions over the years and has won numerous awards for his performances.
His love and passion for music and his chosen instrument has given him the opportunity to share his wealth of knowledge with others.
Ross completed his graduate studies in 2006 and has held some prestigious teaching positions.
